Confirmed acts for the day
Uncle Strawberry is a hard rocking act who have been entertaining the people of Stockport for many years. This event is there swan song performance, as the guys have decided to split and pursue new directions in other bands. Their performance at Marplebury will bring a few farewell tears to the eyes, but will also serve as treat for all those who have experienced the bands amazing talents and infectious smiles at past gigs.
The Harks are one of the up and coming bands from Stockport turning heads across the region. The band are loaded with energy and attitude that elevates them above their peers in the local music scene. They were the first winners of the Pure FM Stockport’s Finest Competition in 2008. Since then, the band have been receiving interest from record label and promoters.
The Cold Few are a newly formed band of young lads who met at the Marple college. After cutting there teeth in different bands, the lads have now put together a fresh and interesting outfit, with more influences than can be listed here. The band hopes to blow the other acts off the stage on the day with their opening slot performance.
Sarah Winton is our very special guest on the day. Sarah has had a long and distinguished career that has earned her recognition and adulation for a truly amazing voice. Her album credits include: Nightmares on Wax and Coldcut. From Soul to Hip Hop, Her performance on the day promises to be distinctly special.
Hiatus have built up huge fanbase following across Europe as testament to the hard work and creative talents the members fuse together to create the wall of sound that grabs your attention and makes you want to throw your hands in the air and dance. Their style and sound have captivated rockers, skaters and festival goers everywhere. The band headlined the Pocket Festival in Brabyns park in 2008
Laslo Baby Are Marple’s hardest work act. The band play more gigs on a weekly basis, than most bands play in a month. They play covers in a quirky and infectious style, that’s guaranteed to get everyone up and dancing and singing. They are the perfect accompaniment to a pint or glass of wine on a hot summer’s day. Anyone who see’s them walks away knowing they will be whistling the tunes they heard the band play for the next few weeks. We see them as the jewel in our event crown.
The Odd Squad First performed for us as an opening act at our past Springlebury events. We were blown away at how fast this band developed the ability to catch people’s attention and get people talking about just how good they are. The band has reinvented the term indie rock to have new life in today’s music scene. They continue to grow from strength to strength and are now writing more original material to showcase in there stage performances, alongside classic tunes that we all know and love, that the band make their own. Watch this space for a future success story.
Thieves Like Us are the last act to be added to the bill. They are a hard working duo from Marple, who can often be found performing at local pubs and events. they have built up a following from local music lovers and will be the second act on the day.
